The Position: Under the direction of the Executive Director of Alumni Relations, the Assistant Director, Alumni Engagement and Programs will be responsible for execution of alumni programming, with a particular focus on affinity programs such as the alumni networks. This entails researching feasibility of developing new networks, building the infrastructure that fosters the growth of newly established professional and regional networks. Identify and train alumni leadership to represent established alumni networks. Review and gather information to help expand online services available to Alumni and Alumni Networks. Oversee development and implementation of professional development workshops and alumni panels. Partner with the University Career Development Center to strengthen and expand career services for alumni. Work with the Executive Director and the Associate Director to identify and establish program sponsors and work closely with these sponsors to coordinate financial and programmatic support; assist the Alumni Relations team with Alumni Class Reunions and the Alumni Awards Gala. Partner and collaborate with personnel from other CSU campuses to grow and expand Alumni regional programming. Responsible to identify, implement and manage new alumni engagement programs and activities. Oversee all aspects of alumni events both locally and regionally. Support the Alumni Association Social Media platforms and website to strengthen online presence. The Assistant Director, Alumni Engagement and Programs will be responsible to identify, cultivate, and grow the Alumni Relations volunteer network and presence in the community through the facilitation of meetings with University administrators, faculty, and members of the University Advancement office. This role will require excellent volunteer and event management; act as a liaison for the Alumni Association's Board of Directors; represent Alumni Relations and/or University Advancement at conferences and meetings on and off campus; participate in committees and task forces; budgetary administration; provide advice and counsel in areas related to Alumni Relations.
Required Qualifications & Experience: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of related job experience. Must possess experience working with volunteers; organizing events, and programs. Working knowledge of computer systems and software such as Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Canvas, Zoom, Illustrator and Qualtrics. Incumbent should demonstrate impeccable organizational and communication skills. Skilled in making prudent and strategic decisions. Ability to: analyze and define program objectives; coordinate and prioritize different endeavors and projects simultaneously and be able to set deadlines and complete projects accordingly; learn quickly, independently interpret and apply a variety of complex organizational policies and procedures; research and analyze related work information; write, and edit concise, logical and grammatical letters, memos, manuals and reports; analyze programs budget data and prepare reports; plan, organize, motivate and maintain cooperative working relationships; apply sound judgment decisions independently; and perform duties with discretion and initiative. Should possess an outgoing nature and affable demeanor and enjoy dealing with the public. Demonstrated interest and ability to work in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who may apply for the position.

Appointment: The Administrator I appointment will be made under the guidelines for management and supervisory employees of the California State University. All rights and benefits associated with this appointment are governed by the Management Personnel Plan.
