GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Responsible for the overall supervision and management of a Day Habilitation Services program as well as supervising and working with the Day Program Manager to develop meaningful and educational activities to be provided in site based and community programs. As requested, performs related work.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS:

Under supervision of the Vice President, Adult Day Services and the Program Director an employee in this class is a working supervisor who plans, supervises, and participates in the operation of Day Habilitation programs provided on site and in the community.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF WORK:

• Recruits, trains, and evaluates staff based on Core Competencies.
• Responsible for participating in program planning reviews for all individuals when needed or as requested by the individual.
• Responsible for ensuring the appropriate implementation of goals and staff actions as indicated in Life Plans and SAPs.
• Works with the Community Liaison to develop meaningful and educational activities to be provided in the programs by Direct Support staff and ensure they have the creative supplies needed to implement the activities.
• Hires new staff and coordinates staffing throughout the day programs.
• Responsible for ensuring the safety and well being of individuals as well as ensuring the safeguarding of their rights.
• Ensures compliance with OPWDD and HCBS regulations.
• Monitors units of services and related data.

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field, three years experience working with the developmentally disabled and one year supervisory experience. Readiness to learn and utilize relevant agency computer applications.
