POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Development Director, the Assistant Director will be an integral part of the Development Team, working closely with the Director, CEO, Board of Directors and others to raise the funds necessary to help the Rye YMCA meets its charitable mission. The Assistant Director will participate in all aspects of fundraising as well as providing key administrative support for fundraising activities and special events. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Plan, organize and supervise special events, including but not limited to the Rye Derby, Annual Benefit, Annual Dinner and other donor cultivation, stewardship and recognition events; manage budgets

2. Manage fundraising software and database entry, conduct data analysis, perform mail merges, generate reports and donor acknowledgement letters in a timely/accurate fashion

3. Work with all Y database systems, including Raiser’s Edge, Greater Giving or similar fundraising software and the Y’s membership software

4. Provide administrative support for all fundraising activities, including but not limited to direct mail appeals, special events and other donor-related activities

5. Represent the Development department with internal and external constituencies through written, verbal, and in-person interactions

6. Partner with the Y leadership in serving and supporting the Board in its development role; participating in committee and staff meetings as assigned

7. Work effectively with all Board and Committee members, donors, volunteers, staff and Y membership

8. Ability to create and work with video applications is a plus

9. Other responsibilities may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s Degree

· 3-5 years experience in development and/or special events planning for a non-profit org

· Experience with database management software, preferably Raiser’s Edge

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)

· Experience with social media marketing

· Ability to create and work with video and online fundraising applications

· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

· Basic understanding of accounting

· Exceptional organizational, time management and project management skills; meticulous attention to detail

· Highly personable, self-motivated and positive individual, with integrity and a strong work ethic; ability to work independently and under strict deadlines

· Must be able to work as a team member and believe in the mission of the YMCA

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform essential functions and to lift boxes, set up tables, etc. during the preparation of special events. Work is performed inside and outdoors, depending on the event.

WORK DETAILS: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm (1 hour paid lunch each day)

Pay: $47,840.00 - $58,240.00 per year

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
