Central Bank Center is our convention side, with over 99k sf of exhibition space, 24k sf each of meeting and ball room space, 50k of hospitality space, 10k sf of flexible space, and over 2500 covered and uncovered parking spaces. Both venues are additionally joined in entertaining this area by the Lexington Opera House, showcasing Broadway talent through collaborative bookings of Broadway shows, small venue concerts, and local arts.

Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Operations reports directly to the Director of Operations. The Assistant Director of Operations will direct, supervise, and schedule all aspects of the day to day facility operations including Operations/Conversion crew, Engineering/HVAC, Technical Services, Information Technology and Special Projects and management of the Custodial Cleaning and IATSE Union/Stagehand third party contracts and scheduling needs, while maintaining ADA compliance and working cooperatively with other departments to assure facility readiness and smooth operation of events.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop operating procedures that conform to corporate standards, customized to the specific needs of the facility, and consistent with the goals and objectives of the client, facility, and corporation.
Manage subordinate supervisors who oversee employees in all Operational Departments.
Develop training programs for all members of each respective operations department.
Develop and maintain working relationships with all departments.
Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budget and recommend an annual capital budget for long-range repairs and improvements to the facility.
Understand and ensure all laws, codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management, safety precautions, rules/regulations and emergency procedures are followed.
Investigate, analyze, and resolve operational problems and complaints.
Conduct periodic staff meetings to discuss procedures, problems, and enhancements.
Assist in the preparation and negotiation of service agreements for housekeeping services, and other operations agreements as needed.
Ensure facility’s fire and emergency safety systems are in operating order and compliant with all codes, ordinances, and laws and that appropriate training programs are in place for all employees regarding the systems.

Requirements:Required Qualifications:

- Direct oversight of facility or complex related to operations and/or maintenance.
- Minimum of four (4) years’ experience supervising/training personnel.
- Demonstrate knowledge in operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.
- Experience managing and training a team
- Experience in contract negotiations, budget preparation, contracts, and purchasing procedures.
- Possess any licenses, certificates or training required by local, state, or national authorities for the operation of the equipment found in the facility.
- Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, drawings, and other related materials.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment.
- Operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, boom lifts, scrubbing machines or other light power-driven equipment.
- Skilled in operating a personal computer using Windows and Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with other in both oral and written form.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
- Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Working from various heights with use of lift equipment, catwalks, or ladders
- Work in a shared office environment
- Extensive movement throughout and around the facility, including catwalks, heights, and climbing or descending of stairs and ladders
- Lifting, carrying, & moving items that can be bulky or heavy
- Extensive time spent with moderate to loud noises
- Manual dexterity.
