About the Department
The Chicago Center for HIV Elimination (CCHE), is situated within the Biological Sciences Division at the University of Chicago Medicine. CCHE aims to eliminate all new HIV transmission events by 2041. The University of Chicago's position on the South Side makes it uniquely situated to test, treat, and prevent new HIV infections in a highly affected population. The South Side communities and majority Black suburbs connected to them to the South represents the largest contiguous Black population in the United States. By using our integrated HIV transmission elimination approaches, we are beginning to make new infections in these communities less frequent.
Job Summary
The Assistant Director of Testing and Outreach will oversee HIV testing, outreach, linkage to care, and care engagement projects at the Chicago Center for HIV Elimination at the University of Chicago Medicine. This candidate will provide direct supervision to the managers of the outreach and testing teams and will support efforts to grow the teams. The candidate will contribute to program and grant writing efforts, develop new Center initiatives around care engagement and transgender health. Additional projects and programming will be added as funding is awarded.
Responsibilities

Maintain and supervise all documentation relevant to HIV and STI testing, service protocols, and quality assurance.

Assist in the development and implementation of Center policies and protocol to support HIV testing, HIV prevention, linkage to care, outreach to community and patient retention in care services.

Work with data team to submit monthly and quarterly program reports to funders and tracks scopes of service.

Collaborate with other HIV providers and the department of public health to identify and prevent barriers to care for clients.

Identify and obtain new grant funding to support ongoing programming.

Management and supervision of client facing staff.

Oversees the linkage and retention in care program; integrating prevention into testing into research protocols; tracking retention and care outcomes across a number of HIV care projects.

Provision of services may also include linkage to primary care; referrals to other community-based organizations (CBOs) and social service agencies (e.g. housing, food, and primary care organizations).

Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of services; development of community outreach programs and procedures; documentation of client encounters and services.

Solves complex problems relating to data management and the analysis of large administrative datasets. Works independently to develop, manage, and report on key data and ensures timeliness of data and reporting submissions from multiple investigators.

Acts as a resource on the basics of clinical research and related aspects of clinical study for colleagues with less experience. Prepares and evaluates writing protocols, IRB submissions, grant applications, manuscripts, reports, and dissemination tools.
