Job description
The Assistant Director of Operations will assist with daily and event specific arena logistics and will work closely with campus departments, National Governing Bodies (NGB's), and the city of Colorado Springs in support of coordinating strategic marketing initiatives. Responsibilities will also include coordination, oversight and training of student, part-time and on-call employees, including the development of a robust internship program. This position acts as a liaison between the facility and user groups, ensuring all user requirements are met and all facility rules, regulations and policies are observed.

Responsibilities:
Events
- Coordinates daily, event, and logistical operations for the Arena including, but not limited to, staffing and scheduling.
- Assist the Associate Director with Arena staffing initiatives in collaboration with programming and scheduling in the facility.
- Provide leadership for all aspects of day-of event implementation, including but not limited to setup/take down and event coverage for all events as directed.
- Serve as Event Manager and Parking Coordinator for select events as directed.
- Collaborate with Executive Director and Associate Director on cultivating and maintaining processes and procedures to serve all clients in Ed Robson Arena, including but not limited to intercollegiate, College, external, club, camp, and City for Champions partners.
Marketing
- Develop a creative vision and detailed plans for the ERA website to support and meet all goals and objectives of ERA.
- Collaborate with Athletic Communications, Marketing and Campus Communications to develop/maintain Ed Robson Arena marketing and social media platforms.
- Direct the creation of marketing materials for distribution on all platforms, including in-house displays.
- Serve as liaison to cultivate and maintain excellent relationships and communication with Colorado College, community partners, and the city of Colorado Springs to support City for Champions initiatives.
Other
- Develop and facilitate use of software programs including but not limited to facility scheduling, rental point of sales, employee management, etc. to accomplish goals, objectives, and tasks.
- Serve as primary contact and operator for Ticketmaster system for use on all events in facility not related to Colorado College Tiger Hockey games.
- Supervise, train, and manage the internship program and arena specialist employees.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director to purchase and order all relevant equipment and maintain accurate inventory.

- Promote a culture of safety and environmental protection by working in a safe manner; immediately reporting unsafe situations and accidents; following college procedures; and participating in appropriate safety training.

- Prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of leadership, programming, recruitment, communications and staffing.
- Demonstrate environmental sustainability by using college resources wisely and supporting the colleges sustainability initiatives and innovation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree plus a minimum of three years related and progressively responsible leadership experience in events, facilities, and logistics management; results oriented with experience in budget planning and management; strong business acumen, organizational and collaborative skills with keen judgement and attention to detail; excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with diverse constituents and from different cultural backgrounds, including coaches, guests, college representatives, parents, students, alumni, donors and representatives of the Colorado Springs and business community; proficient with computer software programs such as Word, Excel, Power Point; understanding of social media to include website management and promotion via social media; ability to perform occasional heavy physical effort to move tables and chairs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Five or more years of experience with higher education event management/planning.
