- Inserts cores or mandrels in roll of paper and locks into place
- Positions roll in unwind stands using hoist or lift and locks into place.
- Threads material through machine to rewind stand and tapes to core or mandrel.
- Splices material to previous roll when possible.
- Makes adjustment to alignment, tension, adhesive/asphalt application, etc. as required.
- Operates machine when operator is away from machine and make necessary adjustments to maintain operating effectiveness.
- Notifies operator or supervisor in case of any major difficulty or malfunction of equipment.
- Observes material, flags defective sections. Splices material as necessary.
- Maintains supply of yarn in creel section of FSK machine
- Removes rolls from rewind section using downender.
- Places core or mandrel in rewind stand and tapes paper to it.
- Uses baler and core cutter as required.
- Reports time, production, material used, etc., as directed.
- Uses safe working practices and always reports hazardous conditions.
- Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
