The Assistant Manager, Logistics supports the on time delivery of merchandise to the company’s distribution points in the US and Canada, primarily for Import, Port of Entry, and Domestic licensee orders. Additionally, the successful candidate should be comfortable working with 3rd party software to manage shipments from vendor bookings through DC delivery and container returns. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining reports, exhibit attention to detail to coordinate Vendor Compliance, and have strong communication skills to operate as part of a successful team.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Manager, Inbound Logistics, 3PL partners and internal business partners to track shipments, manage bookings with BCO and OI (NVO) partners, arrange drayage, and coordinate with Distribution Centers to schedule inbound appointments.
- Maintain reporting to update business partners, as needed.
- Identify shipments at risk and communicate with internal parties providing solutions when applicable.
- Accurately process paperwork for FOB, DDP/LDP, POE and POO shipments.
- Utilize 3PL systems, company systems, and Excel to assist in tracking inbound shipments from origin to distribution centers and other business reporting.
- Work directly with 3PL provider and IT teams to support data flow to vendors, brokers and other providers as necessary to maintain timely freight flow and reduce additional expenses.
- Identify and resolve issues, develop SOP solutions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Work with origin teams to support SPARC brand shipments through BCO and OI contracts.
- Identify carriers/providers for all mode solutions Air, Sea-Air, Ocean, other.
- Provide costing calculations to PD and Finance teams to support mode selection decisions.
- Liaise with vendors to update PO shipment data for CRD, ETD, ETA and other critical milestones.
- Maintain vendor manual in conjunction with business partners in Production, Social Compliance, Distribution Center, Inbound Logistics, and Product Compliance as it relates to Distribution Center activities. Onboard new vendors.
- Assist with / oversee export paperwork creation
- Perform other duties as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree, in Supply Chain, Business, or Operations
- 2-3 years Logistics/Supply Chain experience preferred
- Systems and Tools Acumen: Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and have aptitude to learn technical applications quickly
- Analytic Skills: Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data
- Collaboration: Able to build constructive and effective relationships with a broad and diverse group of partners
- Possess strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrate strong listening, written and oral communication skills
