Northmarq is actively recruiting for an
Assistant Manager of Investment Analysis to join the
Commercial team in
Atlanta, GA. This position reports directly to the Manager of Investment Analysis. The to-be-hired individual will provide oversight of the Analyst Team in support of the transaction deal flow for brokers. This position has a heavy emphasis on coaching, training, and leading the analyst team to improve processes and to ensure quality work is being delivered to broker clients. A high degree of cross-departmental collaboration is common, so the assistant manager must have the ability to work within large groups across multiple departments on various firm initiatives. This position will also complete quarterly sales reports under the direction of the Manager of Investment Analysis, and take on additional projects as company grows.
Position Responsibilities:
- Manages a subset of the larger team of analysts which are responsible for providing analytical services to brokerage teams, including but not limited to, research, economic analysis, deal underwriting, legal abstracts, financial analysis, and select brokerage activities at the direction of a broker.
- This position is responsible for personnel management which includes, but is not limited to, interviewing candidates and making hiring decisions with support of Manager of Investment Analysis, leading team meetings, holding 1-on-1 coaching/development sessions with direct reports, writing performance reviews, implementing performance improvement plans, providing guidance to analyst for complex projects and being available for questions on an on-going basis
- Assists Manager of Investment Analysis with creating and implementing training/development programs to provide analysts opportunities for skill enhancement, brokerage development, and client interaction opportunities with a goal to develop Analysts and identify those who are ready for promotion to Associate broker
- Assists Manager of Investment Analysis with organizing and developing strategic projects that will lead to organizational improvements that are aligned with the needs of the business for future growth
- Collaborates with other operations and sales leaders to achieve various firm initiatives and cross-departmental projects
- Directly assists analysts in performing research, economic analysis, deal underwriting, legal abstracts, financial analysis, and select brokerage activities at the direction of a broker on an as-needed basis particularly when the analyst team is at capacity and/or if a more complex analytical project requires the involvement from the manager
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Real Estate, Business, Accounting or Finance-related major preferred.
- Two to Three years of experience in commercial real estate required, Investment Analyst experience preferred
- Demonstrated leadership abilities; ability to lead both independently and within a team, with minimal supervision
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and assignments while meeting all deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Client service oriented
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work extended hours when necessary
Required Professional Certifications or Licenses: Complete real estate brokerage salesperson license within the first 120 days of employment.
