We are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager in Lake Hopatcong to help oversee our Operations Department.
During the ‘boating season’ you will be helping to guide daily activities of a team supporting boating club members, boat rental guests and slip customers. You will be involved in team development, guest relations, fleet care, and supporting other departments in the marina such as Sales and Service. In the ‘off-season’ you will support fleet decommission and recommission, improve marina systems and strategies, minor maintenance projects and efforts, and guest development efforts. This is a dynamic position integral in creating happy boaters. We provide you leadership, training, coaching, and great experiences.
The Assistant Operations Manager works in partnership with the Operation Manager and the entire Bridge Marina team to lead the delivery of Boating Club, Boat Rentals, Dock Slips, Gas Dock, Marine Store and Property(s) Management.
This role allows you to enjoy the outdoors, working with boats on the water, helping friendly people are happy to see you. The work efforts change with the season keeping work interesting and exciting. The boating seasons are lively, and the off seasons are traditional. This is a great role to advance and learn the boating industry and supporting skills, as well as an opportunity to advance in the field with us.

Some responsibilities are:
- Provide care and support to guests and teammates to ensure they are having safe, fun, and rewarding experience.
- Assists with seasonal, monthly, weekly, and daily care, safety, and administration for fleet of boats and marina facilities, its’ gear, and storage.
- Assist with direction and completion of general marina operational tasks, maintenance projects, and seasonal schedules to ensure the marina, fleet, and offices are effective, safe, and clean.
- Perform various season projects to improve systems, strategies, and the facility for subsequent seasons.
- Assist and oversee boat preparation including cleaning, system checks, safety, launching, hauling, and moving.
- Assists in the training and development of teammates match required culture of marina. Support training and performance of Operations Team to create a fast, friendly, safe service.
- Assist with scheduling and direct daily activities and assign specific duties.
- Communicate with guests to remain aware of current and future guest needs and to recommend additional services.

Requirements
- Customer service experience
- Leadership or managerial experience; maturely leading or overseeing others.
- Valid clean automobile driver’s license.
- NJ Boating certificate and boating experience.
- Good health and great physical mobility
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background/drug screen.
- Work indoors and out in various weather conditions.
- Schedule: Jan-April schedule Tues-Sat. May-Sept any day of week. Oct-Dec Tue-Sat.
This position is a full-time year-round position with opportunity for advancement and growth. We provide health care benefits, retirement plan with company contribution, paid vacation, paid sick time, team events, and opportunity for additional rewards and perks such as boating access, winter holiday breaks, and more. Scheduling is 5-days a week Tues-Saturday from October through April and includes Sundays from May through September. Compensation is commensurate with experience. Salary range is $45,000-$55,000 per year plus gratuities and incentives.
P.S. Experience on and around boats is terrific and will allow you easier learning curve and faster advancement, although, extensive boating experience is not always required as we have trained many teammates newer to boating who are now essential parts of our team.
