B Shift Section Supervisor for our Marysville Facility

SUMMARY
Implement and monitor actions that prevent defective product from being manufactured. Ensure 5S of the production floor is maintained Implement corrective actions to eliminate deficiencies in product quality, training (work instructions) or personnel. Effectively participate in the Continuous Improvement Process (CIP) group and take a proactive position in problem solving.

CRITICAL VITAL ACTIVITIES

Responsible for improvement plans in designated sections to include reduction of scrap, improvement in labor efficiency and quality. Ensure that all job functions are performed according to the posted work instructions. Take necessary action to meet required production budget while still maintaining product quality. Relay information from Section Supervisor meetings, CIP meetings, Problem Solving teams or any other pertinent contact with management to team members. Ensure compliance with safety policies, practices and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Must take responsibility and give direction to team, ensuring all quality standards are met or exceeded while maintaining the quoted production rate. Deal with any personnel issues with the help of the Human Resources Department Work with Molding & Paint along with support organizations such as Materials, Quality and Maintenance to efficiently run the production cells, maximize line up time and maximize labor efficiency. Ensure that all team members are adequately trained to perform their assigned job task. Take steps to cross-train all members of the team for each workstation. Ability to set clear goals and hold people accountable for goal attainment. Other responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and appraising performance of production operators.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 5 to 7 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelors of Science (B.S.) in business or technical field preferred
