The Food & Beverage Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of food items, beverages, and operating supplies for F&B departments as well as overseeing several staff members in their daily tasks.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Resort Center receiving dock by managing incoming and outgoing deliveries as well as general cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Manage the F&B storeroom inventory, organization, security, and outlet requisition process.
  • Manage all shipping and receiving documents, including collecting all invoices to prepare for Hospitality Controller.
  • Department-wide inventory management process including monthly updates to inventory workbooks, distribution of workbooks to outlet managers, consolidation and proofing of workbooks, and submission to Accounting.
  • Manage storeroom bulk inventory for categories including janitorial supplies, consumable paper and plastic supplies, non-alcoholic beverages, and others.
  • Responsible for purchasing bulk spirits, beer and wine including vendor relationships, forecasting, weekly purchasing, requisitioning, delivery and inventory security.
  • Manage outlet requisition process including requisition receipt, fulfillment, delivery and accounting transfers daily.
  • Maintain interdepartmental transfers & events transfer logs on a weekly basis.
  • Build relationships with community resources for food donations.
  • Notify manager/supervisor of low stock levels and 86 lists daily using 86 lists to effectively anticipate end-of-season or end-of-month strategies.
  • Manage F&B delivery truck to TSVI standards of proper repair, maintenance, and use.
  • Receive, unload, and process deliveries.
  • Ensures proper recycling procedures are in place and adhered to
  • Troubleshoot vendor delivery issues and oversee return process.
  • Adhere to food safety and handling policies and procedures across all food-related areas.
  • Create vendor relationships to take advantage of bulk purchasing options, rebates, and preferred vendor agreements.?
  • Use careful sourcing techniques to ensure local food is used when cost is appropriate and endangered items are not sourced.??
  • Maintain storeroom, refrigerators and freezers within Health Department Standards.
  • Manage contracts for equipment and call for repair when faulty.
  • Reliable attendance on all scheduled workdays
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Knowledge:

  • High school diploma
  • Some College Level completion preferred
  • Strong Computer Skills (ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize inventory and purchasing software) and knowledge of Excel and Google Docs is essential.
  • Prior knowledge of and negotiation with local or national vendors preferred
  • 1-2 years leadership experience
  • 2+ years of high-volume purchasing or accounting experience
  • Candidate must have New Mexico Food Handler & Alcohol Server Certifications upon hire
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings.

Work Environment:

Taos Ski Valley, Inc. is often a fast-paced work environment, especially during Holiday and Peak days. TSVI is located in a high-altitude alpine environment. Position may require travel on uneven, snow-packed, or icy terrain and may be exposed to wet, cold, and/or humid conditions. Must be able to work in close quarters and with other staff.

Physical Demands of Position Include:

Will often lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Positions dealing with children, of safety-sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check. Employment is contingent upon a favorable background check and MVR check.
