Brief Summary of Job Duties
The Assistant to the Dean works with the Dean of SCMNS to provide administrative support and assistance to the Dean with all activities related to the School and directs projects on behalf of the Dean. This position is central to the efficient flow of work, initiatives, and projects emanating from the Dean’s Office. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing high-level administrative support to the Dean
- Drafting and preparing reports, proposals, and inter-departmental communications
- Responding to requests from students, faculty, and administrators; assisting with conflict resolution
- Maintaining and updating School’s website
Requested Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor of Science degree is required
- 3 years of related work experience
- Strong experience working in a higher education setting
Other Preferences for Consideration
Candidates with a Master’s degree or PhD may receive preference. Oral and written communication skills, initiative & self-motivation, interpersonal skills, analytical ability, organizational skills, technical aptitude in computers & software (some coding in Python).
