Overview

The Associate position is a full-time entry-level consulting staff position for fall of 2023. This position requires a highly motivated problem solver with strong analytical ability and a desire to advance within the organization. The work of an Associate can be either quantitative or qualitative in nature. Projects range from analysis of large datasets for economic, statistical, and financial modeling to industry and subject-matter empirical research.

BRG currently has over 40 offices across the United States and internationally. This position is located in Washington, DC and offers advancement opportunities within a rapidly growing expert services consulting firm.

Associates work closely with experts in the areas of Corporate Finance, Economics, and/or Healthcare. Experts in Corporate Finance specialize in providing strategic, operational, and financial advice to private equity firms, management teams, boards of directors, investors, hedge funds, and other lenders on companies that are either underperforming or in transition. Experts in Economics assist clients in various industries by applying the principles of economics, statistics, accounting, and finance to address complex issues that arise in dispute resolution in areas such as antitrust and competition, intellectual property, and commercial damages. Experts in Healthcare assist clients across the spectrum of life sciences, health insurance, hospitals and other providers by developing data driven insights and solutions to business challenges, commercial litigation, regulatory change, and government investigations. As an Associate working in Corporate Finance, Economics, and/or Healthcare, you will work closely with experts in the field, learn industry details and client business operations, and leverage quantitative data and qualitative research to answer questions specific to each project.


Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain electronic databases, spreadsheets, and other files as dictated by project needs.
  • Perform detailed analysis and research, then put the results into action (e.g., gather, review, and summarize data and literature from the public domain, specialized industry sources, or client, public, and commercial databases).
  • Review and synthesize documents, data, deposition transcripts, etc. and create summary work product.
  • Demonstrate creativity and efficient use of relevant software tools, analytical methods, and computer models to develop solutions.
  • Audit own work product and work product of others to assure accuracy and quality.
  • Participate in a team environment and work hard to meet client deadlines and quality expectations.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Participate in group practice meetings and travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and an undergraduate level understanding of economics, finance, accounting, statistics, econometrics, mathematics, data science, health economics, or other related subject.
  • Proven capability with MS Excel and statistical analysis programs (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata, R) or relational database program(s) (e.g., MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, Teradata). A desire to expand those capabilities is required.
