The Associate Training Director assists Program director in overseeing the development of academic career training paths (scholarly, research or clinical-educator) with the adult psychiatry residency training program.
Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Program Director to develop programming for all learning experiences including, but not limited to, curriculum, rotations, supervision and mentoring for the residency program.
- Completing semi-annual reviews of residents, as directed by the Program Director, including review of resident evaluations and overall progress in training.
- Designing and regularly reporting metrics related to the performance of educational training programs for the purposes of ongoing tracking and performance improvement.
- Participating in resident recruitment efforts and working with the program director, coordinator and chief residents to plan and implement educational and program events throughout the academic year.
- Participate in teaching didactics.
- Serve on important committees for the training program.
- Demonstrate a commitment to scholarly work, both on your own and with residents.
- Demonstrate a strong interest in the education of residents.
- Administers, and maintains an educational environment conducive to educating residents in each of the ACGME competency areas.
- Covers Consultation Liaison service of the department.
- Performs other duties as required.
Education
:
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO).
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry.
License, and Certification Requirements
:
- Licensed, and currently registered in New York State.
- The Psychiatrist will be credentialed as a member of the Medical Staff of Interfaith Medical Center.
Experience:
- Requires advanced knowledge of a specialized or technical field or a thorough knowledge of the practices and techniques of a professional field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of job-related experience.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency with Office PC's, Desktops, and Laptop software in addition to familiarity with Microsoft Office softwares to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Good interpersonal skills a must.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
Physical Requirements
:
- Position may require prolonged periods of standing, walking, talking, sitting, hearing, and bending throughout the work day.
- May include some repetitive motions.
