ABOUT THE JOB
As an Assistant Project Controller at NewCold, you will be a key member of the finance team working as an extension of the finance department to support the Project Controller. You will assist in the creation and monitoring of a project’s budget in partnership with the Project Controller and will be a part of the analyzing of project-related financial data and other finance related tasks. You are a problem solver who comes up with creative solutions based on your experience and a strong set of professional principles.
What you will be doing:
· Monitor and complete internal and external reporting requirements on time.
· Keep an active line of communication open between the project and finance departments as it relates to relevant financial topics.
- Assist in effective financial project reviews
- Attend project review meetings as required
- Review monthly cost forecasts for respective projects
- Assist with month end activities (i.e. checking cross charging costs and internal hours, project reviews, sales and billings variance analysis, etc.)
- Prepare and manage investment application processes and other cash flow needs
- Provide financial and strategic support to assigned project teams ensuring proper accounting treatment, control environment and financial analysis
- Help to oversee the cost control systems, interpret cost trends and develop analysis to identify trends/issues
- Perform assignments that are usually broad in nature and require initiative, judgment and creativity
- Ad hoc finance activities as required
What you bring to the table:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar discipline
- At least 3 years of relevant experience
- Advanced understanding of Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Flexibility in working hours due to deadlines and working on a global team
