This position is responsible for supporting development of small molecule and biological drug products via the development and application of process technologies (Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF), Buffer Exchange), high-throughput automation and scale-down technologies (mini-piloting). Laboratory activities will support commercial product formulation, process development, scale-up, and accelerated stability studies.
Requirements
Follow safety, regulatory, and compliance standards as they relate to the development of pharmaceuticals
Member of a dynamic scientifically driven team dedicated to the development and optimization of robust manufacturing processes for drug products
Utilize appropriate wet lab skills, research tools, instrumentation, technologies, and methodologies to support efficient and effective drug product process development
Apply engineering principles to solve process challenges across multiple unit operations, utilizing experimental with support of process simulation/modeling approaches
Maintain a productive laboratory workspace, which includes managing workflows, processes and systems for the lab, maintaining / troubleshooting equipment, and providing recommendations for continuous improvement
Collaborate with formulation and process development teams to provide data for product commercialization and new technologies, and to optimize or enhance existing products or processes
Education
Degree in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry or Material Science:
B.S. or M.S and 0-2 years of relevant experience
Skills Required:
Experience carrying out experiments based on fluid circuits with flexible tubing and luer-lock connections
Ability to trouble-shoot through common hardware and software challenges on lab instrumentation;
Experience related to lab automation (liquid-handling or powder handling) experience would be beneficial.
Experience designing and carrying out experimental studies and documenting findings
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential to be an effective member on cross functional assignments.
Strong time management skills. Ability to navigate multiple assignments in parallel and work in a fast paced, multidisciplinary environment.
