ASST OPERATIONS MANAGER
General Definition of Work:
Performs difficult administrative work supervising capital improvement projects, facilities and grounds maintenance,management of contractual services and space management, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the general direction of the LeGrand Center Director. Divisional supervision is exercised over Operational (back of the house), Assistant Operating Managers, Bartenders, Custodians (both contracted and employed)and contracted set-up personnel.

Essential Functions:
Schedules facility maintenance; ensures property preparedness for health, ABC, ALE, fire, elevator, hood and suppression system inspections.Oversees beverage operations, service standards, policies, procedures, ordinances, purchasing, pricing and inventory.Manages, screens, processes, hires, trains and supervises Assistant Operating Managers, Bartenders, Custodians (county staff) and contracted seasonal staff.Manages event sets, set flips, banquet protocol and refresh practices; inspects caterer performance as it relates to service standards, health codes, equipment maintenance and post-event property condition.Composes, verifies and executes food, chemical, furniture, fixtures and equipment inventories.Manages and facilitates A/V operations/technology; maintains facility applications, security systems and facility equipment interfaces.
Monitors events and open/close facility as needed acting as the Manager on Duty.
Assist Executive Director in developing operational budget for Back of the House and facility maintenance.Assist Planning and Sales Department in event planning, marketing and logistics. Manage relationship with Cleveland Community College Culinary Program and venue/kitchen usage.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures of the event center and the organization and functions of the
department within County Government. Proficient in facility applications (such as security systems, lighting, A/V, HVAC). Knowledge of clerical and financial record keeping methods and techniques. Ability to plan and supervise the work of subordinates. Ability to deal with the public tactfully, establish and maintain an effective working relationship
with associates and the general public.

Education and Experience:
Associates/Technical degree with coursework in hospitality management, communications, marketing, operations
management, project management, or related field and extensive experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Physical Requirements:
This work requires the frequent exertion of up to 50 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 100 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel, stooping,kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling and repetitive motions, frequently requires lifting and occasionally requires sitting, climbing or balancing and tasting or smelling; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive
information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to
make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, visual inspection
involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, operating machines and observing general
surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires wet, humid conditions (non-weather), working near moving mechanical parts, working in high, precarious places, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, exposure to outdoor weather conditions, exposure to extreme cold (non-weather), exposure to extreme heat (non-weather) and exposure to the risk of electrical shock; work is generally in a quiet location (e.g. library, private offices).
