Our Audit practice seeks an experienced Audit Senior to join our Manufacturing & Distribution Audit team in our Chicago office. As an Audit Senior in this practice we will provide you the opportunity to provide a range of assurance services and business advice to large corporate, manufacturing, distribution and insurance clients, and help solve complex accounting business issues that impact our clients’ financial situation.
The preferred location for this position is in our Chicago office. However this position can take place in any of our U.S. office locations.
Our firm offers remote working.
Professional Responsibilities:
  • Lead in the planning, execution, reporting and completion of financial audits of assigned manufacturing, distribution, and consumer products clients
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of clients’ operations, processes and business objectives
  • Review and evaluate financial risk, reporting and internal controls
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to bring order to unstructured problems, and adapt the audit approach to the changing client environment
  • Work with other audit professionals to identify and resolve client issues discovered during the audit
  • Design and implement technical solutions that improve client financial management activities
  • Advise on the validity of financial statements, business critical information and processes determined during the audit
  • Train, mentor and supervise other audit staff on the audit process and assess the performance of audit staff for engagement reviews
  • Keep engagement managers and partners informed of the status of all engagements and any issues identified that may impact the client
  • Maintain a good, professional working relationship with clients to enhance client satisfaction
  • Contribute to new business proposals and proposal development
  • Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct, and adhere to strict client confidentiality
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting or a business-related field of study
  • An advanced accounting degree (Masters’ degree) is a plus
  • CPA or eligible for the CPA exam
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience in financial auditing or accounting/financial advisory services in a CPA firm, a professional services firm or an audit consulting practice
  • Experience working with manufacturing, distribution, large corporations, multi-national companies or SEC registrants
  • Strong technical accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP, GAAS and IFRS
  • Strong auditing skills, including ability to challenge client assumptions and provide recommendations on clients' current internal control review
  • Experience supervising and empowering other audit staff
  • Ability to adapt to different clients’ environments and build strong clients’ relationship
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a fast-paced, interactive results-based environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite tools
  • Working knowledge of ProSystem Engagement and other audit preparation software programs
  • Demonstrated success in leading, training and mentoring other staff
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work extra hours as needed and travel to various client locations
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
