Job Description – Home Health and Hospice Authorization and Verification Quality Assurance Specialist

The ChallengeAt Homecare Homebase, we help home health and hospice organizations across the nation overcome the business and technological challenges that stand in the way of patient care and efficiency. As a Home Health and Hospice Authorization and Verification Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play an essential role in ensuring timely and accurate obtainment of authorization and verification of patient’s insurance benefits, in alignment with the RCS Authorization and Verification Teams policy and procedures and client expectations, so that they can focus their time and energy on delivering high quality patient care.
You will be responsible for:- Ensuring that policies and procedures related to the insurance authorization process are followed by the authorization specialist through routine auditing of work completed.
- Recommending and implementing new processes to ensure quality and minimize errors in the authorization and verification processes.
- Documenting new and existing processes.
- Training and mentoring authorization specialist to help reduce errors and other members of the quality assurance team.
- Tracking and reporting on errors identified.

We Are Seeking A Qualified Individual That:- Is highly organized and displays a strong attention to detail.
- Has strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Computer literacy.
- Is familiar with the HCHB R2 Database and has a knowledge of Availity, MyNexus, Ability, and other common clearing houses.
- Has strong decision-making skills.
- Is analytical and data driven.
- Has the ability to track and compile large amounts of data to identify trends in errors and make recommendations on process improvements.
- Is a team player and passionate about what we do and will actively contribute to a positive, collaborative environment.
- Home health/hospice experience is preferred.
- Ability to work any shift between 7am and 7pm and occasional Saturdays & Sundays.
