Automation Technician - Maintenance Department - 2nd Shift
Job description
SUMMARY:
Automation technician is responsible for maintaining continuous production in automated cells.
This position will be responsible for identifying and troubleshooting basic problems in automated cell.
Automation technician is responsible to perform PM in automated cells.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and troubleshoot basic problems in automated cells. Recover and start up the system and make sure the cell is back up and running properly.
- Undergo extensive training to become familiar with basics of Robot programing and maintenance, automated systems, Safety Regulations, Pneumatics, Electrical drawings, etc.
- Work with the Automation Manager in installation of new automated cells.
- Perform some control wiring, pneumatic piping and mechanical assembly safely when needed.
- Assist Maintenance with repair of problematic equipment failures in automated cells.
- Perform essential preventive maintenance on robots and equipment in automated cells.
- Updates manuals and parameters for automated equipment.
- Provide training in regard to Automation to other Automation Technicians.
- Ensure compliance with the health and safety regulations and quality standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May supervise subordinates as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- To perform this job successfully, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in working with mechanical, pneumatic and electric systems.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Experience to meet responsibilities with minimal detailed supervision.
· Must be a self-starter, organized and dedicated, with good record keeping skills.
· Must have good written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to accept and cope with restrictive time frames and unpredictable situations.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, management, customers, and general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to apply basic mathematical operations.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Ability to use word processing, spreadsheet. Must be familiar with internet research and the use of e-mail.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Must actively support our Health Safety and Environmental policy, immediately report all Safety hazards and correct them when able to safely do so, participate in all required Safety Training, meetings, inspects, and use all required PPE.
