Position Title: Automotive Technician II

Location: Alabama

Position Status: Contract

Position Description:

Partnered with a major automotive manufacturer, Seneca Resources is looking for qualified Automotive Technicians to support a 6-month electric vehicle (EV) project on-site in Alabama. This opportunity is for non-resident candidates outside of state of Alabama. Per diem, health, dental, vision insurance, competitive pay, and training are offered. The work schedule includes both 8hr day and evening shifts (6:15am-3pm, 6:15pm-3am). Successful candidates will be required to provide their own tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision, a team member in this role will assemble, paint, monitor quality, or perform

production support for all vehicle production

  • Performs difficult repair activities, e.g. steering column repair or exchange, engine repair or replacement.
  • Determines needed repair activity and perform repair.
  • Performs standard part replacement
  • Transports necessary materials and/or parts to designated areas of the assembly line.
  • Verifies quality of own or other’s work and write a description of defects observed on documents attached to vehicle bodies.
  • Participates in group meetings to exchange job related information.
  • Works toward establishing and participating in continuous improvement programs. Works toward establishing and participating in safety programs.
  • Work on and/or around high voltage battery systems.
  • Perform quality control checks in accordance with test procedures, evaluate, and communicate findings.
  • Document test event information through vehicle testing.
  • Assist engineers to duplicate vehicle behaviors observed during vehicle testing.
  • Operate data acquisition equipment following test team instructions.
  • Data entry into vehicle test databases and data sheets.
  • Place product on hold that does not meet specifications.
  • Move between different job assignments and work schedules.
  • Work at an accelerated pace while meeting production needs and quality levels.
  • Maintain a constant awareness of safety issues.
  • Utilize good communication skills.
  • Rotate shifts on a two-week rotation schedule.
  • Consistent attendance in accordance with policy and work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Bend, stoop, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move and hear as required by specific position.
  • Perform safe work practices and participate in trainings and safety programs in a positive and proactive way by following safety rules, procedures, regulations, standards and laws.
  • Report all unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and injuries to supervisor or Human Resources.
  • Work safely 100% of the time.

Qualifications:

  • This position requires a certificate from an accredited technical or industrial trade school.
  • ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certifications are highly preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in repair area or assembly environment with experience in/with

STAR Diagnosis and Information System (WIS), Automatic Data Processing (ADP)

workshop management system, ASRA Labor Time Guide, STAR Tech Info, Enhanced Diagnostic Assistance

  • Center (EDAC), experience with how vehicle components work and interact as well as the ability to work with electronic diagnostic equipment (STAR Diagnosis) and computer-based reference material (Workshop Information System)
