Job description
- Setup, operate, take down and/or put away AV equipment to support events.
- Assist team members to ensure 100% readiness of all audio-visual equipment and peripherals.
- Troubleshoot/repair AV equipment if instructed by a lead or supervisor.
- Assist security officers and custodians as needed during a special event.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Knowledge of audio-visual equipment such as projectors, stage lighting, amplifiers, microphones, speakers, mixers, laptops.
- Knowledge of office equipment and computer peripherals (copiers, scanners, audio and video playback/recording devices)
- Computer literate (Windows, Mac, PowerPoint,, audio and video playback/recording software, various audio and video file formats)
- Ability to successfully undertake a work order without supervision.
- Ability to recognize quality audio and video.
- Ability to follow supervisor’s instructions and ask for direction and assistance when necessary.
- Ability to multi-task, perform detailed work and successfully complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Good communication skills and excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative relationships with other employees, program participants and the general public.
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally and lesser amounts more frequently.
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, or stoop from 50 to 75% of work day.
PARTS AND WEIGHTS OF THE EXAMINATION:
Oral: 100% (must receive a minimum passing grade of 70%)
POST OFFER REQUIREMENTS: Satisfactory completion of criminal history, physical, and a drug screen that tests for illegal drugs as defined by the Federal Drug Free Workplace Act but not those legalized under Michigan law
