AVP - Macro Controls Officer
New York
As a Barclays AVP - Macro Controls Officer, you will be the first line of defence Risk and Control function directly supporting the Macro business within Global Markets, with specific focus on the Emerging Markets and FX business lines. You will partner with Macro Control Leads to assess the effectiveness of the end-to-end control environment and drive control enhancement and automation initiatives. You will also be performing risk and data analysis to provide Controls related insights for business leads.

Salary / Rate Minimum: $95,000
Salary / Rate Maximum: $140,000

What will you be doing?
- Providing oversight, guidance and support relating to issues management in respect of risk and control issues
- Ensuring frameworks are implemented and managed effectively across aligned businesses, functions, and horizontals
- Driving improved and sustainable controls culture through use of data led relevant indicators to ensure Control Forums are insightful and conversations risk focused
- Monitoring key indictors and partner with Macro Controls Leads to provide insights to leadership to oversee their risk profile
- Identifying and resolving thematic issues to drive control enhancement opportunities using key data such as Control Reporting & Data insights
- Supporting the business with the execution of their responsibilities under the Barclays Control Framework
What we’re looking for:
- Prior experience and understanding within Markets, or within a first, second, or third line of defence role directly aligned to Markets, is required for this role
- Solid ability to perform root cause analysis and generate executive level reporting
- Good understanding and knowledgeable on aspects of Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), Operational Risk Framework (ORF) and Barclays Control Framework (BCF)
- Experience of working in or within a Control type role / team with the ability to demonstrate a risk management mindset
Skills that will help you in the role:
- Effective written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present credibly to senior stakeholders
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in different business functions who have different objectives e.g., Barclays Internal Audit, Risk, Compliance, Fraud, Legal
- Solid Excel skills including extensive experience in managing large quantities of data, pivots, formulas, Vlookup
- Prior experience and understanding working in Markets, or in a first, second, or third line of defence role directly aligned to Markets
