Description:

Our food and beverage department includes an a la carte member-only restaurant with 2 dining rooms, a bar and outdoor seating. During the summer months, in addition to the restaurant, our full-service snack bar opens to serve our members and their guests at the pool. Lastly, this department also includes our banquet facilities which are open to the public for hosting private events with in-house catering. Our food and beverage department works as a team to provide exceptional service and attention to detail to the familiar faces we see in all these areas.

The purpose of the Banquet Server position is to assist the banquet team and overall food & beverage staff in providing prompt and attentive service during private events hosted at the University Club as well as member social events. The position reports to our Banquet Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

Maintaining & presenting a positive attitude to all members & guests

Maintaining a clean and pressed correct uniform to include name tag

Delivering food in course order from proper direction consistently

Pre-bussing and bussing tables

Must know all menus to include specials, liquor, beer and wine offered for sale

Running food from kitchen to tables using established standards

Following all established food handling and safety requirements

Opening and closing side work for events

Setting up & breaking down buffets when needed

Maintaining the overall cleanliness of restaurant and banquet areas

Communicating effectively and efficiently to the kitchen, peers and management

Carrying server trays effectively

Reading and executing a banquet contract

Must be knowledgeable of all events on the property and effectively answer questions from guests

Address all members and guests by Mr. and Mrs./Ms. with their last name or Sir or Maam

Listening to and responding to the comments, requests and questions from the customers and the staff

Making sure that the customer leaves satisfied; settles any disputes while maintaining good customer relations

Schedule:

Typical banquet hours are between 9am and 10pm Tuesday through Saturday, however, banquets may occasionally be held outside of these hours. Banquet servers need to have significant availability during these times and be willing to work holidays.

Salary:

$15.00/hr
