Scout's Coffee Bar + Mercantile in High Bridge, NJ is looking for a barista to join our 9 person strong team. We are located on 11 Main Street. Our ideal candidate is self-driven, motivated, and engaged.

We are hiring either a Junior Barista or Senior Barista. Depending on experience and interest in hospitality. Base hourly rate is $14.13-16 PLUS tips.

We learn. As a barista at Scout's you'll grow your palate to taste coffee, use some of the best equipment in the industry to brew in many different ways, and discuss your knowledge with customers. You'll learn how to make recipes for espresso, pour over, and other drinks. We experiment a lot so a sense of curiosity and play is necessary.

We connect. Scout's believes in lifting up our community through charity and partnerships. We support local artists and entrepreneurs by hosting markets and workshop events. We also work with our community to provide a space for private events and meetings. Scout's has participated in programs such as Baker's Against Racism to raise money for NJ based non-profits.

We grow. Building a work environment where our staff feels comfortable to grow as individuals and through the skills they acquire is paramount. Opportunities for promotions can be created for baristas who have interest in areas outside of the typical responsibilities. Such positions include barista-dual role in events coordinating, off site markets, gift buying, e-commerce, social media marketing, and merchandising, to name a few.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $14.13 - $16.00/hour.
