Job Profile: Battle Command System Specialist
Location: Fort Rucker, Alabama
Schedule: Full Time
SECURITY CLEARANCE - SECRET
- The Directorate of Simulation's (DOS) core mission is to support and enable Initial Military Training (IMT) and Professional Military Education (PME) training & education efforts, which utilize Live Virtual Constructive Gaming (LVC-G) simulation capabilities and infrastructure. Additionally, the DOS supports other key mission areas, which include:
o Supporting collective training events and exercises for agencies external to the United State Army Aviation Center of Excellence (USAACE).
o Supporting Live Virtual Constructive Gaming simulation capabilities and infrastructure.
o Supporting USAACE directed conferences and meetings.
o Supporting the integration of the Flight School XXI simulators and systems into the DOS Network Architecture.
o Supporting the Aviation Resource Training System in Warrior Hall.
- Every effort is made within the confines of this environment to make Army battle staff training as realistic as possible. Simulation systems are used to replicate flight line and aircraft operations within the virtual environment. Mission planning systems are used by the students to emulate real-world planning cells. Students in the command posts perform staff roles by using battle command mission tracking and applying the Military Decision Making Process as part of their training.
- The following are examples of the systems currently being used; Mission Command 13, Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE), Blue Force Tracker (Joint Battle Command Platform, JBCP), and Tactical Air Space Integration System (TAIS) as well as the server stacks and technologies that support them.
- Providing expert operations, maintenance, management, and configuration support for Army Mission Command systems training.
- Serving as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for systems used in Army Aviation Battalion and Brigade operations centers.
- Learning and fielding new software and upgrades as new technologies evolve.
- Providing rapid response to user's questions, concerns, and problems with respect to mission command systems, JVMF message protocols, and network connectivity.
- Possessing a strong understanding of VSphere and VM Workstation configuration for virtual machine platforms.
- Having familiarity with the integration of simulation systems and Army Mission Command Systems to create a complete immersive training environment with blue and red tracks.
- Possessing and maintaining an active security clearance and continuing education requirements for position certifications.
