Job description
As a Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) at Aspire Health Partners, your primary job purpose is to assist in assessing families with DCF involvement for mental health disorders or substance misuse. Duties include assessment, screening, consultation, coordinating client placement, case management, follow-up, referral services and support for families. BHCs are subject matter experts on behavioral health who are co-located at DCF offices and who focus on assisting DCF workers with their families. The process usually starts with a DCF worker asking for a consultation on a case with the BHC. The BHC and DCF worker will discuss the case in depth and the BHC will decide whether a screening is appropriate. If a screening/assessment is needed, the BHC will reach out to the client to schedule an in-home assessment. The assessment is a brief screening to determine the need for referrals for in-depth evaluations and treatment. The BHC maintains contact with the client until they engage in the recommended services. This entire process needs to be documented and properly communicated. Most importantly, all functions must be completed while maintaining high standards of ethical and professional conduct while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
Requirements:- Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family, or a related field to behavioral health;
- Minimum of one year experience in a related position, assisting children and families with behavioral health;
- Strong skill in organization, communication, and scheduling;
- Ability to receive and maintain a(n) Level II Background clearance;
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Registration driver's license record in accordance with the underwriting guidelines set by Aspire insurance company as described in the AHP Corporate Transportation Policy 3.9.1.;
