Solutions Behavioral Healthcare Professionals (“Solutions”) is a dynamic and thriving organization that provides mental health and human services. We are seeking applicants for our Behavioral Health Specialist positions. You are able to enter this track with or without a college degree.
WHAT DOES THE JOB LOOK LIKE?
This position works out in the community, providing support and training for individuals with disabilities. The persons we serve have various behavioral, developmental, and/or mental health needs. This position provides services where the individual lives, works, or functions out in the community. These individuals may be living with their families or in a supervised living situation such as a group home or an apartment setting with staffing. This position provides behavioral support and skills training to enable the individual to improve their quality of life and achieve their goals.
Each individual served has a unique and diverse background. Each has an individualized plan of care, which directs the activities of this position. The philosophy of this program is person-centered, meaning that the person's goals and preferences are paramount, and that services ensure the health, safety, and protection of rights to each person served. This position is designed to provide direct support and implement treatment strategies developed by the individual’s care team, with a focus on behavioral intervention. It provides modeling and coaching for the person’s caregivers. Some crisis support may be provided.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Solutions is looking for someone with good “people” skills, someone who is consistent, kind, and patient. The Behavioral Health Specialist position requires responsibility and the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate would be comfortable working with individuals with disabilities and have skills in behavioral intervention. They would strive towards cultural competence. Minimal requirements for this position are a high school diploma and two years of human experience. The individual hired for this position must pass a criminal background check.
