We are looking for someone to oversee the provision of intensive one-to-one therapy to students with autism or related developmental conditions within the Moorhead, MN School District. WHAT DOES THE JOB LOOK LIKE?

This position provides Intensive Behavioral Intervention for students with autism, mental health disorders, and other developmental conditions using the principles of ABA. We focus on training in language, cognitive, adaptive behavior, social-emotional, self-care, fine motor, gross motor and communication development. The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) is ultimately responsible for direct delivery of behavioral services to children and families, as well as accurate record keeping of case notes. The BHT works closely with and under the direction of a supervising BCBA, and program progress is frequently monitored to ensure maximal success.

We need someone who loves working with school age children, the challenge of intensive behaviors, someone who is energetic, kind, and patient. An ideal candidate is someone who is willing to learn specialized intervention skills and to grow in their position. This position requires the minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Additional compensation is available for candidates who hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a behavioral or child development science or related field (including but not limited to, mental health, special education, social work, psychology, speech pathology, or occupational therapy) from an accredited college/ university.

The individual hired for this position must pass a criminal background check.
