The Benefit Admin is responsible for contributing to the overall success of OneAmerica objectives by providing timely and accurate support to our Specialty Team. This individual provides exceptional customer service and achieves appropriate and timely claim outcomes by taking appropriate actions to gather updated information, provide status updates to claimants and develop efficient processes to accomplish objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute toward meeting business objectives through prompt, accurate inputting of claims including retrieval of necessary information, and sending written correspondence.
  • Corresponds with claimants, employers and physicians verbally and in writing.
  • Promote a positive customer service image through prompt, accurate and courteous responses to customer information needs.
  • Appropriately document claim files, systems and all communication in an approved format in a clear, prompt, consistent and professional manner.
  • Consistently adhere to the documented workflow guidelines and established procedures and demonstrate high quality work by meeting or exceeding quality standards.
  • Maintain required levels of confidentiality.
  • Maintain a level of participation and commitment to individual, team and results by retaining responsibility for optional outcomes and assisting management in activities/projects that support team objectives.
  • Inform manager of any trends, suggested efficiencies and assists in development of new processes if applicable to this position.
  • Maintain claimant information on administration systems to ensure claims are processed in compliance with legal and statutory requirements as well as customer agreements.
  • Adapt to changes in workflow and systems to improve and maintain an excellent level of customer service.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • H.S. Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year working in a fast-paced office environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook
  • Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background

Salary Band: 01B

As a condition of employment, OneAmerica requires that all new hires who receive a job offer on or after Jan. 17, 2022 provide evidence of vaccination against COVID-19 within the first week of their employment with OneAmerica, unless an exemption has been granted as an accommodation due to the individual’s medical condition, sincerely held religious belief, or other legal requirement. This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Portland, ME. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in Maine as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
