bartaco - corporate beverage director

the candidate must live in a market where we have a bartaco restaurant.

position scope:

the director of beverage will provide mentorship and guidance to the bartaco beverage team and restaurant operations on the overall beverage execution. Tasked with the development of bartenders and beverage managers to best manage our bar to deliver high-quality bartaco drinks + radical guest-first hospitality. the director of beverage will be involved with each vendor for pricing and negotiation, new menu rollouts, support to new restaurant openings, as well as units that require an “in the trenches” approach. will need to have detailed knowledge of all bartaco specifications and recipe standards, in-depth product knowledge, and be fluent in the execution of the inventory systems.

key responsibilities

  • supply chain management and operational effectiveness
  • national management of pricing, inventory availability, future pricing, price negotiation, and vendor relationship
  • pricing accuracy and verification, pricing out all liquor/wine/beer, digital inventory management, depletion management
  • analysis, strategy, and planning of cogs planning and improvements
  • inventory control, purchasing, and cost management oversight

research and development

  • creative responsibility for seasonal cocktails while keeping up with industry trends
  • utilization of seasonal products for cocktails, minor seasonal adjustments, keeping up with current trends
  • support and create new and efficient ways to improve the overall bar operations, working in-field to assess the overall performance of the brand and individual locations' performance and opportunities, and creating action plans to improve

restaurant support

  • provide leadership, ongoing training, and support to bartenders, and managers, on recipes, presentation, and lbw
  • monitor bar costs, and labor controls while aiding operations and providing training as needed.
  • Lead drink menu rollouts and evaluate procedures while making recommendations for improvement.
  • participate in the creation and implementation of drink training materials.
  • support each unit’s r&m needs and partner with facilities as well as rd’s and operations to keep all restaurant equipment in satisfactory working condition.
  • provide clear, transparent, honest feedback to the team on performance measures.
  • practice proper sanitation and safety at all times with compliance to general standards and health department regulations to protect the health and welfare of our guests and co-workers.
  • share time and action plans with restaurant management and follow up on completion.
  • support new restaurant openings with ordering, purchasing, training, and set-up.
  • participate in marketing functions and events to promote brand recognition.

travel + work conditions

  • may be required to lift, carry, push or pull heavy objects up to 50 lbs
  • kneel, bend or stoop, ascend or descend stairs; reach and grasp objects
  • work out of restaurants on a regular basis
  • flexible travel schedule (days, nights, weekdays, weekends, holidays)

experience

  • bachelor's degree preferred with a minimum of 5 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • liquor, beer, and wine knowledge required
  • experience in new restaurant openings a plus
  • multi-unit experience is a requirement
  • a college degree in a related field is preferred
  • working knowledge of computer inventory programs
