Position: Marketing & Communications Manager

(Bilingual English/Spanish required).

Seniority Level: Mid

Reports To: Chief Mission Officer

Schedule: M-F, Nights and Weekends as Required by the Role

Type: Full Time – Exempt

Pay range: $65,000 - $75,000 DOE

ABOUT CANCER SUPPORT COMMUNITY ARIZONA

Cancer Support Community Arizona (CSCAZ) opened its doors in March of 1999 with a mission "To ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community." CSCAZ is a statewide 501(C)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting anyone impacted by cancer, any age, any stage, any cancer.

CSCAZ programs are designed to ensure people affected by cancer learn vital skills to regain control, reduce feelings of isolation and restore hope throughout their cancer journey. Offerings encompass the psychosocial supports that are so important in cancer treatment regimes, including support groups, one on one therapy, healthy lifestyles workshops, social connections, education, referrals, and resource navigation. Programs are provided free of charge, offered through the virtual Zoom platform and in person. More than 20,000 adults, teens, and children have been supported by CSCAZ programs.

WHAT ROLE DOES THE MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER SERVE AT CSCAZ?

Cancer Support Community Arizona is looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager who will play a critical role in ensuring the organization achieves its plans for growth in alignment with its mission and values. This individual will report to the Chief Mission Officer to be a key player in Cancer Support Community Arizona’s marketing and communications efforts cross-departmentally and externally. The Marketing & Communications Manager will be responsible for creating digital content, collateral, website & brand management, media relations, and managing all aspects of the organization’s social media presence. Ideally, the candidate will be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a small, close-knit team, and thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. The successful candidate must be able to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and have a commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access.

Responsibilities:

General Marketing & Communications

• Collaborate with Chief Mission Officer to develop marketing and communications plans to promote Cancer Support Community Arizona’s mission and programs.
• Manage all aspects of CSCAZ branding.
• Write and edit content for CSCAZ website and email marketing efforts.
• Develop collateral to help promote Cancer Support Community Arizona’s programs and fundraising efforts.
• Develop and maintain media relationships. Create and distribute press releases to promote CSCAZ programs and events.
• Maintain CSCAZ online program calendars.

Social Media Management

• Manage all aspects of Cancer Support Community Arizona’s social media presence

(website, LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube).

• Drive strategy to increase daily engagement on CSCAZ social media accounts.
• Lead content creation for CSCAZ’s Social Media, including written blog content, tweets, posts & videos.
• Increase awareness for CSCAZ initiatives and events.

Latino Program Marketing & Communications

• Collaborate with Bi-Lingual Program Director to build and maintain Latino Program marketing and communications, including website, social media, program calendar, and email.

Data & Analytics

• Monitor, report and present on online engagement analytics (web, email, social media, earned media).
• Leverage key engagement metrics across platforms to optimize content, messaging and distributions.

EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE:

• English and Spanish Fluency
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, business, or related field
• Excellent media relations skills and strong existing local media network preferred
• Experience with technologies and best practices for campaigns across multiple platforms
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong copywriting and content creation skills
• Ability to multitask and monitor several projects
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage time effectively
• Ability to take initiative to develop new strategies and outside-the-box ideas
• Ability to work independently or in a team
