LSS is looking for a Billing Specialist to join our small team of compassionate and talented individuals. LSS provides the opportunity to work with a variety of new payers, vendors, and be a valued member of our statewide mission to care for, support and strengthen individuals, families, and communities in South Dakota.
SERVICE: Administration
HOURS: Full-time, Monday through Friday. 8:00am to 5:00pm (No evenings or weekends!)
RESPONSIBILITIES: Billing of mental health, substance use services, and adoption services to various funding sources including, but not limited to: Insurance, EAPs, Medicaid, and Medicare. Management of outstanding claims by following up with pay sources, clearinghouse software, and clients to include identification, investigation, and resolution of disputed charges, billing errors, etc. in order to ensure timely collections. Generate monthly client statements and agency reports, as required. Manage reconciliation of accounts to software systems and issue refunds when appropriate. Provide back-up for accounts receivable and other accounting staff, as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS: Five years experience required or Associates Degree in Business, Accounting, Healthcare Administration or related field and two years experience. Experience with health insurance, EOBs, ICD-10 coding, DSM-V and CPT codes/coding is preferred. Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, ability to multi-task and accuracy are required for this position, as well as the ability to learn various software programs.
Must successfully complete all agency background checks.
SALARY: $20-$22 per hour; Dependent on experience and qualifications.
