Body Shop Painter Job Summary:
The primary function of the Body Shop painter is to perform major and minor collision repair on a variety of different trucks and truck equipment. Repairs include maintenance such as Cab & Sheet Metal Repair, Composite Repair, Bonding, Surface Preparation, Fiberglass Repair, and Painting.

Body Shop Painter Essential Responsibilities:

1. Inspect vehicles for damage.

2. Determine a course of action for damaged parts and systems.

3. Routinely use computerized equipment and specialized tooling.

4. Repair body to factory or customer specifications.

5. Remove and replace damaged parts with power and hand tools.

6. Fill cracks and depressions.

7. Perform cosmetic repairs.

8. Routinely use computerized equipment and specialized tooling.

9. Accurately records time, cause and correction on Repair Orders.

10. Participate and completes technical training and professional development.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of basic Computer skills and Repair Order Processing Software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Position requires the ability to operate motor vehicles and have safe driving record. Current Commercial Driver's License is preferred but not required.


Physical Demands

Sufficient manual dexterity to operate office equipment (or operate a PC), mechanical tools such has wrenches, sockets, grips, air tools, and other basic shop tools.

Ability to climb ladders

Ability requires a person to bend, twist, squat, reach in order to perform tasks on truck components.

Ability to lift a minimum of 60lbs – 150 lbs. unassisted.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, due to tools and engine noise.
