Its mission is to bring equity to pediatric healthcare by offering underserved patients direct access to their primary care provider through traditional medical office visits, telemedicine, and mobile medical services while providing comprehensive, prevention-oriented healthcare, care navigation services, and integrated behavioral health services. About the Chief of Staff

BCP seeks an entrepreneurial minded leader to join our team in the newly created role of Chief of Staff as we continue to grow and build this unique practice in Boston. The Chief of Staff will play a key role in helping to shape and deliver on the strategic imperatives of BCP's next phase of organizational development. This role will have primary responsibility for the leadership and management of all operational functions. The Chief of Staff will ensure internal systems, processes and infrastructure are in place for continued growth. This role will also make certain the organizational values, culture and vision are reflected in all aspects of the work and are maintained and strengthened as the organization evolves.

We seek candidates that have experience in a fast paced, start-up environment and thrive on creating, building and implementing systems and processes to ensure staff has the tools to be successful. The Chief of Staff will be a highly relational and collaborative leader with an empowering management style and the ability to balance big-picture strategy with immediate needs. Core to this role will be the understanding that systemic racism and structural inequities are strongly correlated with disparities in health, educational and economic attainment and will demonstrate a commitment for changing this narrative within the execution of this position. This role will thoughtfully consider the impact of decisions, and facilitate resolutions that protect BCP's interests and prioritizes mission/values. Successful candidates will have an openness and respect for others cultures, identities and lived experiences.

The Chief of Staff will report directly to the Founder and will be involved in the management of all staff with direct supervision of 6 staff members including Practice Manager and Administrative & Development Coordinator, front desk staff (2) and Medical Assistants (2).


Key Responsibilities:

Organizational Leadership

  • Serve as a trusted advisor, confidant and strategic thought partner to the Founder and organization’s staff
  • Set, communicate, and manage clear organizational vision and goals for internal leadership.
  • In collaboration with the Founder, create and present BCP’s strategic plan to the Board of Directors and operationalize across the organization
  • Work collaboratively with the Board, to ensure they stay informed and have opportunities for strategic counsel in overall programs/operations

People and Culture

  • Build and support BCP’s diverse and talented team through the development of systems and processes for recruitment, onboarding, professional development and performance management of employees
  • Ensure BCP builds best-in-class People practices that support our culture, values, and diversity, equity and inclusion objectives
  • Model an openness to and respect for others’ cultures, identities, and lived experiences
  • Cultivate an organizational culture that reflects BCP’s mission and supports a learning culture that embodies knowledge sharing, feedback, and continuous growth
  • Manage a diverse and growing staff; ensure that staff goals and responsibilities are clearly articulated and met
  • Ensure that employee appreciation events are prioritized, and staff members are rewarded for their commitment and positive performance
  • Provide oversight on BCP compensation practices, benefits package and other employee policies

Operations

  • Execute strategic operational vision through day to day running of the high volume practice; including building management, IT, as well as develop and maintain policies and procedures
  • Maintain a solid understanding of the financials and provide oversight on day to day activities. Work closely with our vendor to ensure accurate, timely monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, and oversee the audit process
  • Assist the Founder in the overall management of BCP’s activities and programs
  • Interface with external partners and consultants as needed

Donor Stewardship and Solicitation

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with key donors
  • Provide oversight of the BCP volunteers, many of whom are donors
  • Lead the development and oversight of the Parent Council and Advisory Council

  • Passion for BCP’s mission and the movement of seeking a more equitable approach to health care
  • 5+ years of experience in senior people-centered leadership/talent and/or operations roles where the focus has been on excellence in operations and culture + excitement for inspiring, developing, and empowering diverse teams.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and transparent leadership style with a track record of motivating and inspiring confidence, communicating clear expectations, and providing constructive feedback
  • Experience creating a culture which drives high standards, empowers others to proactively and creatively problem solve, and models versatility and collaboration
  • Highly organized with ability to effectively prioritize diverse responsibilities/tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to complete work accurately and efficiently
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas effectively to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing
  • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
  • Technologically savvy and curious; proficient with GSuite applications and experience with donor databases (Salesforce experience preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Conversationally proficient Spanish speakers are highly encouraged to apply

Compensation and Benefits

BCP offers a competitive salary for all staff positions. The exact salary that will be offered to the Chief of Staff will be determined based on a consideration of the successful candidate’s skills and experience and aligned with BCP’s compensation policies. Salary Range: $115,000-125,000.
