The Boutique Merchandiser is a full-time and/or part-time position. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the Boutique Merchandiser is responsible for identifying appropriate merchandise to be sold at the Boutique from items donated through our Goodwill donation centers and Retail stores.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions:
- Must be familiar with all major brands of designer clothing, handbags, shoes and accessories.
- Must have a thorough understanding of textiles and ability to identify quality fabric and fibers through sight and touch.
- A genuine interest and passion for current fashions and fashion trends required.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of current retail fashion pricing.
- Must be able to appropriately price merchandise for resale.
- Experience creating store displays a plus.
- Ability to choose pieces that can work together through mixing materials, fabrics, colors, and patterns.
- Must be energetic and enthusiastic.
- Must be able to work well alone or as a team with minimal supervision.
Incidental Functions:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license and insurable driving record.
- Knowledge in retail field or warehouse.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to effectively communicate, including reading and writing in English.
- Ability to perform tasks involving pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting items up to 50 pounds.
- Must have an inclination toward repetitive and routine tasks.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to operate cash register, ATM, fax machine, calculator, pricing gun, and fastener attaching gun.
- Must not present a direct threat to the safety and health of self, others or property.
- Must provide proof of identification and eligibility to work in the United States of America.
- Requires travel to Retail stores to certify items designated for the Boutique which necessitates the possession of a valid California driver’s license subject to clearance by Goodwill’s insurance carrier.
- Must pass a drug screening.
- Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must meet qualitative and quantitative performance standards as established by the company.
POSITIONS SUPERVISED:
- None required.
WORK CONDITIONS/HAZARDS:
- Limited hazards due to lifting, pulling, and pushing merchandise by self or others.
- Requires a high level of adaptability and flexibility.
- Work environment usually hectic (fast paced) with frequent short deadlines and regular instances of critical or unusual situations.
- Field of work includes production area, and store showroom.
