Position Overview
The Branch Manager is responsible for building a winning team and knowledge base for achieving excellence in all facets of branch operations and performance including inventory management, team development, customer value, creating and executing the branch business plan and overall financial performance and growth. This role works in collaboration with area leadership to provide sound direction, meet or exceed goals set forth in terms of revenue, customer satisfaction, and associate succession planning while supporting company goals, missions and vision.
What you’ll do:
- Lead a team and recruit top talent to determine individual strengths and weaknesses of branch associates. Actively coach and mentor to achieve high performance and to facilitate their long-term career development at SiteOne.
- Train and coach all branch associates in customer value best practices and facilitate a culture whereby every team member is obsessed with customer success.
- Create an incident-free environment by emphasizing safety daily through leading by example. Promote a strong safety culture through workplace organization, training and executing policies.
- Thoroughly understand and translate company operating and financial data and be able to quickly identify business trends and determine root causes.
- Set effective goals and monitor key performance metrics to assess daily, weekly and monthly progress and to track improvement initiatives. Implement area strategy and develop a complimentary branch strategy to achieve excellent performance and growth and customer value.
- Use/Analyze performance metrics to track progress and continuously adjust strategies to achieve area goals in light of changing market conditions.
- Continuously update product knowledge. Stay informed and educated as to product inventory and applicability. Understand product applications and help customers in their selections.
- Direct yard operations. Maintain necessary inventory levels, order materials, route deliveries and pickups.
- Review daily reports, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Manage workflow to assist staff in balancing priorities, providing backup support if needed and otherwise ensuring that all work is accomplished with an appropriate sense of urgency. Be willing, able and capable of performing any branch job function as needed.
- Help plan/maintain facility layout to promote safety, security, and productivity while leveraging available space and ensures facility is maintained in a neat and professional manner.
Skills We Are Seeking
- High School or equivalent required
- Higher education degree preferred
- 4 to 7 years of managerial experience including leadership, issue management, motivation and team building preferred
- Understands sales and operations planning process, demand forecasting and integration of demand plans and supply plans
- Excellent communication, customer service and leadership skills
- Working knowledge of business accounting and P&L statements
- Knowledge of market preferences, competition, regulations and trends
