SUMMARY Checks front office accounting records for accuracy and, on a daily basis, summarizes and compiles information for the hotel's financial records. Tracks room revenue, occupancy percentages, and other front office operating statistics. Prepares a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities, reflecting the hotel's financial performance for the day. Posts room charges and room taxes to guest accounts including guest transactions not posted during the day by the front office cashier. Is able to function as a front desk agent especially in terms of check-in and check-out procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following, other duties may be assigned)
Posts room charges and taxes to guest accounts.
Processes guest charges voucher and credit card vouchers.
Posts guest charge purchase transactions not posted by the front office cashier.
Transfer charges and deposits to master accounts.
Verifies all account postings and balances.
Monitors the current status of coupon, discount, and other promotional programs.
Tracks room revenues, occupancy percentages, and other front office statistics.
Prepares a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities.
Summarizes results of operations for management.
Prepare of End of Day procedure.
Run end of day process in property management software (PMS).
Understand principles of auditing, balancing, and closing out accounts.
Know how to operate front office equipment and software systems.
Understand and knows how to perform check-in and check-out procedures.
Ensures the accurate and proper posting of resort charges to their respective departments.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor, which could be directly related, or un-related to original position.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successfully, and individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Software, Point of Sale and Property Management software experience preferred.
OTHER SKILLS & ABILITIES
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously. Requires self-direction, tact, diplomacy and a clear, courteous and professional manner when dealing with the public.

RESORT CONDITIONS
This is a Winter Resort Area. It requires that work venues are varied, and in many cases include steep stairways, multi-level buildings and outdoor work areas, subject to very cold, sometimes wet or very sunny work sites. Some facilities are located at the base or bottom area and some are semi-remote and can only be reached by traveling via chair lift(s), skis or snowboards. Walking surfaces are frequently frozen, sloped and slippery. Proper footwear is a must, indoors and out. Work days and hours, as well as the number of hours required will vary, with an emphasis on weekends and holidays.
