Position Description:

The Business Analyst helps company leaders make informed decisions by providing them with relevant data insights. Using data generated from business transactions and processes, this position identifies, develops and analyzes key drivers, metrics and modeling to support decision-making and progress tracking. As a key advisor to the Division regarding its commercial and/or operational performance, this position must develop an in-depth understanding of the business and financial needs of Steel and Pipe Supply.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide timely, relevant and accurate analysis of business processes and results
• Utilize systems (SAP, QlikView, GAINS) to report, research, analyze and summarize transactional level data
• Identify, develop and analyze key drivers and metrics to support decision-making and progress tracking
• Suggest and drive process improvement for the commercial and operations functional teams
• Perform routine ad hoc analysis
• Proactively review and analyze information related to business KPI’s for a variance from normal trends
• Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to gather, analyze and summarize data related to various business proposals
• Develop and maintain various models to support commercial/operations processes
• Identify and communicate objective assessments related to all analyses performed
• Track and maintain inputs, processes, and accruals
• Perform updates of contracts and pricing conditions
• Maintain various accruals related to commercial (rebates) and/or operations (freight)
• Support the execution and delivery of the forecast
• Coordinate with Division representatives on forecast development
• Analyze key drivers of forecasted results vs prior periods and projections
• Suggest and drive process improvement related to the forecast process

Physical & Work Requirements:

• Requires ability to perform primary job responsibilities while spending long periods of time at a computer
• 0-10% travel
