The Business Analyst – Product Management will be responsible for the preparation, analysis, and review of complex rebate/financial management, product category and inventory data to be used in reports directed towards senior and executive management within the distribution division.
As a key member of the Category Management Team, this individual will lead the development of analytics that support strategic decision making and the execution of key initiatives.
The Market Product Management Business Analyst will also be responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of product launch initiatives, analyzing trends and supporting efforts to maximize profitability while implementing process improvements.
This role will assist extensively with ad-hoc process improvement and operational analytics which will require significant interaction with individuals across many areas of the organization.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Utilize data to identify opportunities for growth, retention, and areas of friction within the product including product category growth, margin contribution, etc.
- Influence and inform product/business teams through presentation of data-based recommendations.
- Bring a deep understanding of growth & optimization best practices.
- Synthesize large data sets into digestible information.
- Demonstrate up-to-date expertise in Information Systems and apply this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices.
- Facilitate project meetings and presentations to all types of diverse audiences (for example, executive and senior management, commercial business leaders and sales team members).
- Provide leadership to team members and peers by collaborating with others.
- Articulate ideas and viewpoints to senior management, peers, and others.
- Identify and initiating projects managing resources, driving the resolution of issues, and holding self and team accountable for results.
- Identify, create, and facilitate process design changes by conducting business and systems process analysis at a complex level focusing on quality improvement and data management ensuring data is reliable and valid.
- Developing process improvements or re-engineering and recommending elimination; integrating new systems and processes with existing ones while partnering with internal customers to ensure systems and processes provided meet the long-term business strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the business.
- Stay current with interdepartmental needs and strategies; utilizing formal and informal written communication methods (IE: email, PowerPoint presentations, executive updates, task lists) to communicate updates and findings.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, Business Analytics or Finance. Master’s degree preferred.
- 3-5+ years’ experience in Business Analytics is required.
- Distribution industry experience is a plus.
- Must have experience working on large scale projects as well as handling day-to-day operational requests from the business.
- Strong project management experience and the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks at any given point.
- Excellent relationship building, oral, and written communication skills
- Strong understanding of business, business processes, and process improvement
- Solutions oriented thinker and doer
- Possess strong planning, organizational and time management skills as well as strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office mandatory (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Expert at developing, updating, and maintaining Microsoft Power BI reports, dashboards, and analyses
