POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Intelligence Engineer will be a principal member of the Business Intelligence Team, focusing their efforts on construction, maintenance, and improvement of reporting infrastructure and approach. The role will call on full stack BI experience, with a focus on back-end solutions, data engineering, and ELT processes and tools. The Business Intelligence Engineer will sometimes be called on to produce reports for end users and assist with ad hoc analyses. The role reports to the Director of Business Intelligence on a team managed through the Operations vertical (reports to Chief Operations Officer by way of the Vice President of HQ Operations).

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• 
  Build, maintain, and improve core extract / load / transform processes and data environments to support a centralized company reporting package.
• Work within both business and technical leadership’s programs to maintain technical standards while prioritizing the needs of a dynamic and necessarily quick-moving business team.
• Analyze, qualify, and develop business requirements in partnership with the Program Manager and stakeholders; participate in the cycle of continuous improvement with your team and company leadership.

• Produce high quality end to end business analysis and visualizations using the full modern business intelligence stack.
• Identify opportunities for improving operational efficiency and profitability, expressing insights through data-backed analysis.
• Perform other duties assigned

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Certifications:

• 
  Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)

Experience:

• 
  Track record of successful stakeholder collaboration esp. within solar, construction, or trade industries
• 4+ years of experience in technical business analytics, data engineering, or similar roles.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Deep experience as an operations analyst, data analyst, business intelligence analyst, or analytics engineer
• A strong grasp of the modern B.I. stack (SQL, data loaders, cloud hosted data warehousing, data transformation tools and methodologies, visualization tools esp. Power BI and Tableau)
• Comfortability working within the operations vertical on a technical development team using Agile practices and modern software development practices
• Comfort with self-lead investigation, analysis, and independent follow-through

• A disposition towards frequent (chatty) and dynamic communication and collaboration on a fully remote team
• A genuine interest in the advancement of sustainable energy solutions (esp. the deployment of residential solar and energy

Special Skills & Training:

• 
  Microsoft Power BI
• SQL (MySQL Server, PostgreSQL)
• Preferred experience with Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, and/or Data Build Tool
