Position provides individual and group instruction to the assigned supervisees at Augusta Correctional Center. Responsible for providing Career and Technical Education instruction in Business Software Applications, Introduction to Computers, and Computer Literacy areas; to assist assigned students to complete the required competencies for that trade area; demonstrate effective classroom or lab management; to ensure that the lab is operated in compliance with all aspects of safety management; and to maintain accurate and current student records for assigned student.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge and skills in communications, business systems, computer applications, word processing and information systems, and keyboarding communications and information technologies; possess considerable skills to perform tasks in those areas; ability to determine and use effective methods of service delivery; ability to manage a classroom, maintain records, and supervise assigned students and aides. Must be able to demonstrate competency on the appropriate current state licensure. Must be able to meet the physical and environmental demands of the position.

Must possess or be eligible for a Virginia Teaching License. Must have five years of experience in the Business and Information Technology trade area with two years of verifiable experience within the past five years.
Must possess or be eligible for the Technical Professional License issued by the Virginia Department of Education and endorsement in business and information technology area. Must be able to meet the physical and environmental demands of the position.

Preferred Qualifications
Prefer teaching experience in an educational environment, alternative school setting, correctional education setting, or state facility.

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business; Information Technology, a related field.
