Job Summary:

The Buyer position is an integral part of an innovative and strategic department designed to become a competitive advantage for Gardiner and support the business long-term goals. The Buyer will source and purchase materials, equipment, parts, and supplies for resale, utilization on projects and use within the company through supplier relationships and best-in-class business practices.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Strategically source and purchase materials, equipment, parts, and supplies.
• Develops and maintains relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal customers.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain best-in-class costs, lead times, terms, rebates, and more to secure long-term relationships.
• Assists with negotiating contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Oversees and maintains inventory to support business needs and goals.
• Assist in the development of a new and strategically important department within Gardiner.
• Learn and maintain an understanding of new and existing products and trends to leverage opportunities with suppliers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 1-3 years of Purchasing or Sourcing related activities.
• Applicable HVAC industry experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, quickly evolving environment.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
