Description
At LeJeune Steel Company, our people are our most Important resource. We're looking for a highly skilled Buyer I team member who is responsible for the sourcing of direct materials for all shops both internal and sub-contracted. Specifically, but not limited to service center purchasing with some overlap into direct mill buying as needed.
Responsibilities/Tasks of role:
- Coordinate with Production team to ensure timely delivery of appropriate material to meet production schedule
- Utilize MRP to determine raw material purchasing needs with consideration for maximizing stock usage and efficiency of material utilization
- Plan and coordinate material deliveries in collaboration with vendors and LeJeune Logistics Coordinator for all internal and external shops
- Works with suppliers and Logistics Coordinator to resolve delivery problems
- Analyze material requirements for jobs in the Advanced Material List state and execute the sourcing of both Mill and Service Center items with stronger focus on Service Center
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in basic computer skills required, Tekla EPM experience preferred
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Well organized with a strong aptitude for accuracy
- Ability to communicate and collaborate in a team environment while also being able to work independently on multiple workstreams
- Flexibility and adaptability to smoothly transition from one course of action to another with little or no difficulty
- 1-3 years of procurement experience required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- High school diploma required
- Ability to pass a background and drug screen.
