Description

At LeJeune Steel Company, our people are our most Important resource. We're looking for a highly skilled Buyer I team member who is responsible for the sourcing of direct materials for all shops both internal and sub-contracted. Specifically, but not limited to service center purchasing with some overlap into direct mill buying as needed.

Responsibilities/Tasks of role:

• Coordinate with Production team to ensure timely delivery of appropriate material to meet production schedule
• Utilize MRP to determine raw material purchasing needs with consideration for maximizing stock usage and efficiency of material utilization
• Plan and coordinate material deliveries in collaboration with vendors and LeJeune Logistics Coordinator for all internal and external shops
• Works with suppliers and Logistics Coordinator to resolve delivery problems
• Analyze material requirements for jobs in the Advanced Material List state and execute the sourcing of both Mill and Service Center items with stronger focus on Service Center
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in basic computer skills required, Tekla EPM experience preferred
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Well organized with a strong aptitude for accuracy
• Ability to communicate and collaborate in a team environment while also being able to work independently on multiple workstreams
• Flexibility and adaptability to smoothly transition from one course of action to another with little or no difficulty
• 1-3 years of procurement experience required
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• High school diploma required
• Ability to pass a background and drug screen.
