Position Summary:
Duties:
- Plans, leads, and implements camp programs.
- Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants.
- Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement, and general well-being.
- Maintains a schedule for camp participants.
- Facilitates and creates plans for activities.
- Organizes and leads various small and large group activities.
- Ensures the cleanliness of the camp location.
- Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, documentation, rosters and attendance.
- Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the overall camp program.
- Records and tracks camper’s dietary restrictions/allergies and ensures that the meals/snacks are distributed to them.
- Mediates any campers’ disputes.
- Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program.
- High school diploma or equivalent plus minimum of two (2) years camp counselor related experience, light industrial and camp product handling experience.
- Must have good organizational, problem solving, verbal, and written skills.
- Enjoys being in the company of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

- Must be able to carry heavy loads and travel hilly and uneven terrain, if applicable.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks outside in various climates, if applicable.
- Education and experience in camp programs, recreation, working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities, or in a related field.
- First AID certification.
- Lifeguard certification, if applicable.
- Valid Driver’s License.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel or crouch.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
