What You Will Do:

University of Maryland St Joseph Medical Center (UMSJMC), a member of the University of Maryland Medical System and located in Towson, Maryland, has an immediate opening for a Full-time Cardiac Surgery First Assist PA or RNFA.

As a Physician Assistant/RNFA in our Cardiac Surgery Department, consisting of three surgeons and an excellent clinical team, you will first and second assist in open heart cases including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repairs and replacements, and ascending aortic cases.

Job Specifics:

• Brand new multi-million dollar, state of the art CVORs and Hybrid room!
• Growing, signature program at SJMC
• Call is shared with a group of 5
• Although experience, including proficiency with vein harvesting is preferred, will consider all applicants

What You Need to Be Successful:

Education

• 4 year / Bachelor's Degree: Physician Assistant (Required)

Master's Degree (Preferred)

Certification / Licensure / Registration

• BLS Certification (Required)
• HCCPA Re-certification exam every six years (Required)
• Physician Assistant (Required)
• Registration from Maryland State Board of Physician Quality Assurance (Required)

Experience and Skills

• 0 - 2 year Physician Assistant (Required)

2 - 4 years Physician Assistant (Preferred)

Experience with vein harvesting strongly preferred.

Required Skills: Strong critical care patient management experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills

as well as effective written and oral communication skills. Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
