What You'll Do

The Career Pathways Specialist assists newly arrived refugees and other qualified immigrants to attain self-sufficiency through the effective administration of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program's Education and Training program (SNAP E&T). The position leads outreach and enrollment activities and provides enrolled participants with individualized support to gain self sufficiency by guiding them through employment preparation, coordinating education and career training opportunities, job placements, and other career advancement services. The position conducts intake, assessment and provides program orientation to clients eligible for the program. Develops comprehensive employment plans and regular coaching and support by connecting participants to relevant education and training opportunities that align with their employment and self sufficiency plans. Develops plans to overcome barriers to participation throughout the service period. Maintains written documentation of services and ensures services are delivered within the required time frames and in accordance or organizational and contractual policies. The Career Pathways Specialist is responsible for the effective development and implementation of the program and is responsible for coordination with program partners internally and externally.

What You'll Need

Bachelor's degree in health or human service or an education or workforce related field and two to four years relevant professional experience in workforce development/employment services field ; Linguistic appropriate skills to meet the needs of the clients are desired but not required.
