Arlington Public Schools (APS) requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless a medical or religious exemption is approved. Being fully vaccinated means that an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen (i.e. Pfizer, Moderna, and/or Johnson and Johnson). As a condition of employment, newly hired employees will be required to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination.

This position is a 0.2 FTE located at Arlington Community High School .

Plan and implement appropriate instructional and/or learning strategies and activities, including determination of appropriate kind and level of materials, provide appropriate learning experiences, manage allotted learning time to maximize student achievement, and utilize a variety of instructional materials and available multi-media and computer technology to enhance learning.Willingness to collaborate with regular education teachers.Continually assess student achievement and maintain appropriate assessment and evaluation documentation for institutional and individual reporting purposes.Manage the behavior of learners in an instructional setting to ensure environment is conducive to the learning process, and assist and participate in management of student behavior in other parts of the school, center, school grounds, or work site.Participate in in-service and professional development activities and staff meetings, as required or assigned.Foster partnerships and ensure continuous communication with parents, both written and oral, to keep them informed of student(s) progress.Complete other duties as assigned.

Possession of a collegiate professional or postgraduate professional license issues by the Commonwealth of Virginia with endorsement in Technology Education grades 6-12. Due to the various courses offered for Technology Education, specific industry certifications may be needed by the qualified candidate to teach courses whereby the students will sit for an industry certification test. At this time, this is applicable to individuals seeking initial licensure from the VA Department of Education.
