Restoration Technician

The Restoration Technician performs production processes to fulfill the service needs of individual restoration projects and maintains the professional appearance of SERVPRO equipment and vehicles. This position provides water damage cleanup, demolition, fire/smoke cleanup, general cleaning, bio-hazard cleanup, duct cleaning, carpet/upholstery cleaning, walls/ceilings/floor cleaning. SERVPRO is a 24 hr/7day a week/365 days a year emergency service business. By providing quick response times, quality, consistent, efficient work, the Restoration technician represents the best in the cleanup and restoration industry. Hiring is for full-time and part-time positions; local work. This is not a work-from-home position. Workers meet at the warehouse and then take company vehicles to the job so a clean, valid driver's license with a 3 year driving history is essential (suspensions within the last three years will make you ineligible for this position). This position is very labor intensive. Do not apply if you are not able or willing to do labor work and be on-call (after hours work).

Bio-hazard and sewage cleanup is paid at time and a half. Bonuses are given for coming in for emergency service work. Free hands-on training.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Evaluate amount of affected structural and content-affected materials and develop a drying plan.
  • Utilize iPad for signing appropriate Work Authorizations and other paperwork: take Pre-, daily departure, and post photos for job files; enter daily notes and moisture readings; sketch affected area with water migration and equipment placement.
  • Perform production processes: extraction, content manipulation, demolition, equipment set-up and other labor intensive tasks
  • Inventory and load the work vehicle with equipment, products, and supplies needed for each project. Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and clean equipment appearance.
  • Prepare rooms/areas for work activities. Set up staging area and equipment for each project.
  • Adhere to safety and risk management guidelines at all times
  • Communicate with restoration supervisor and other technicians to maintain efficient production processes
  • Utilize electronic devices for input of job progress and data.
  • Perform end-of-day/end-of-job cleanup and breakdown. Leave jobsite with a clean and orderly appearance.
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude, professional demeanor.
Position Requirements
  • Effective oral and written communication with basic math and computer skills
  • Experience in cleaning/restoration preferred
  • High school diploma/GED
  • IICRC certifications preferred
  • Current, Valid drivers license with minimum of 3 years licensed experience; no suspensions within the last 3 years; no DUI's or reckless driving history.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to climb ladders, work at ceiling heights, work in tight spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics)
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to repetitively push/pull/lift/carry objects
  • Ability to work with/around cleaning products/chemicals
  • Ability to work around mold and smoke damaged buildings
  • Ability to travel locally.
  • Ability to be on-call 24/7 for emergency services and to work overtime at a moments notice.
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check subject to applicable law
Pay Rate
Starts at $(16)/hour based on minimal to no experience and increases based on merit. Hourly rate higher based on experience and current certifications.
